I have worked in CBT as a therapist, supervisor and trainer for more than 25 years, based in the NHS in Newcastle and Leeds, and at the University of York. I have extensive experience helping people work with their emotional problems, such as depression, anxiety disorders, PTSD and OCD.
I recognise how difficult it can be to seek help and I am sensitive to the reservations some people may have about embarking on therapy. I believe it is important to establish a trusting therapeutic relationship, so that people can build on this and take the necessary steps to make significant changes in how they feel emotionally and to improve the quality of their lives. I try to adopt a compassionate and non-judgemental approach towards all patients.
I receive regular clinical supervision and ensure I am up-to-date with developments in the field of CBT. I adhere to the standards of conduct of the BABCP, including the need to maintain confidentiality.
